About Lama Thupten Gyaltsen Dorje Rinpoche
Lama Thupten Gyaltsen Dorje Rinpoche is the resident teacher of Urgyen Samten Ling Gonpa and has studied and practiced the Buddhadharma for over 45 years. He was ordained as Lama in 1997 and was given the title of Rinpoche in 2013.
Sunday Pujas
Join our Sangha (congregation) for our weekly Sunday services, re-opened as of Easter 2022.
“Puja” is the ceremonial practice of awakening our natural qualities of wisdom and compassion through prayer and recitation of mantras.
Puja of Compassion (In-person)
(Chenrezig Puja)
Increase compassion while healing oneself and others, with teachings by Lama Palden. This practice is recited in ENGLISH.
Sundays 10:00—11:00 a.m.
Main Puja Practice (In-person or via Zoom)
Traditional Tibetan Buddhist ceremony and devotional, with teachings by Lama Thupten Gyaltsen Dorje Rinpoche.
Sundays 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Senior Sangha with Rinpoche (Zoom only)
On-going class for advanced practitioners, with instructor’s approval.
Mondays 7:00 p.m.
Ngondro with Lama Palden (Zoom only)
Preliminary & foundational practices in the Longchen Nyingtik tradition, with instructor’s approval.
Thursdays 7:00 p.m.
Introduction to Tibetan Buddhism (In person & via Zoom)
An eight-week introductory course taught by Lama Palden, providing a contemplative and experiential foundation on the core teachings of Tibetan Buddhism including:
- Who was the Buddha? And an explanation of the four Noble truths.
- Beginning meditation
- Mantra recitation
- Exploration of The Four Thoughts that Turn the Mind Towards Dharma.
Please bring a notebook and something to write with to the first class. We will also use The Torch of Certainty as a text.

This class will be held in-person ONLY at the Gonpa for 8 sessions, every other Wednesday.
